AIS – ISAP (Association for Information Systems – Information Systems in Asia Pacific)
is an academic association for MIS researchers/scholars in the world who are interested
in MIS issues, which was officially approved by AIS. Therefore, the main purpose
of the AIS – ISAP is to provide a forum where international scholars and practitioners
interested in MIS issues can come together and know each other, sharing research
and practice experiences, and encouraging and promoting research collaborations
in this field. To this end, AIS-ISAP organizes annual conferences on MIS, with the
focus on Asia Pacific. Since 2004, AIS-ISAP has organized international conferences
on MIS in Washington D.C,
USA
,
Las Vegas
,
USA
, and
Mexico
. Working with other world well-known professional associations such as IEEE EMS,
CN-AIS Chapter, WiCOM2007, and
Shanghai
Jiaotong
University
, the 2007 International Symposium on Information Systems and Management (ISM’07)
will be held in
Shanghai, China
.
At ISM’07, Professor Gordon B. Davis, commonly regarded as a Founding Father of
MIS Discipline, and some other prominent IS/MIS scholars of China’s top universities
will be invited special guests and present at the symposium, which provides a good
opportunity for overseas IS scholars to network with Chinese IS/MIS scholars for
possible research collaboration and/or academic exchange.
Other informative events will also be organized, including:
·
Panel on how the
MIS discipline can be better developed and internationalized by using international
education administration standards such as ABET standards, a quality control standard
for internationalizing and developing MIS discipline. ABET qualified evaluation
experts from
USA
will be invited to give presentation on ABET standards in MIS discipline and guide
the discussion as well.
·
Social events
to help network with IS/MIS colleagues to foster research collaboration and academic
exchange.
The proceeding
of ISM2007 will be included in IEEE Xplore and cited by EI.
The symposium is hosted by
Shanghai
Jiaotong
University
, AIS SIG-ISAP, and
Wuhan
University
, sponsored by IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Engineering Management Society
(EMS), AIS China Chapter (CNAIS), and National Science Foundation,
China
.
