Copperheads’ arms lead them to victory over Joes

The Copperheads used a two-run first inning to propel them to a one-run, 2-1 victory over the Hamilton Joes Sunday at Bob Wren Stadium. It was the first ever meeting between the Copperheads and the Joes, the newest member of the GLSCL.

The twin bill with the team at the top of the heap in the league did not disappoint. The Copperheads pulled off game one, 3-2, in 10 innings. Grand Lake responded with a 2-1 victory in the nightcap.

The Copperheads led 2-1 but fell to the Locos 4-2 in game one. But in the nightcap, Dave Jensen and Corey Harness took a no-hitter into the seventh and the bats pounced on the Locos in the sixth and eighth to carry Southern Ohio to a 6-1 win.
