Head Coach Ted Tom Finalizes 2008 Coaching Staff

Copperhead's Head Coach Ted Tom has announced his selections for Coaching Assistants. Chris Moore is Assistant Baseball Coach at Shawnee State University (OH) and will be the Copperhead's Pitching Coach. Andrew Engebretson is an Assistant Baseball Coach at Seton Hill University (PA) and will be the Copperhead's Hitting Coach. Engebretson will also be the team's Field Maintenance and Equipment Manager.

We remind you that we are a collegiate all star team playing with wooden bats. To be considered, players must be members of a collegiate team and are eligible to play for us between their just completed freshman year and the beginning of their senior year (3 seasons total).

Dedman Joins Mott in Head Coaching Ranks

Denison University recently named former assistant Copperheads coach Justin Dedman their interim head coach. This makes Dedman the second coach from the 2007 Southern Ohio coaching staff to be named a head coach at a university.

Shell-Shocked Copperheads' Season Cut Short in Devastating Loss

After beating up on the Delaware Cows for eight innings, the Copperheads surrendered six runs in the bottom of the ninth, falling 9-8 in a season-ending playoff loss.

Copperheads Go "Loco," Dominate Lima in Playoff Opener

The sixth seeded Copperheads are perfect so far in the playoffs, trouncing the number one seed Lima Locos 10-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Starter John Karr threw a picture-perfect seven scoreless innings and was given outstanding run-support in the impressive Copperhead victory.

Chuck Boring, Tony Campana and Matt Stiffler were named to the 2007 All-Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League Team First Team during Monday's coaches meeting in Columbus. Arden McWilliams and Ryan Wackerman landed on the Second Team, and Head Coach Mike Deegan was named the Joe Carbone Manager of the Year in the league.

SITE UPDATE: Hello, and welcome to the new website for the Southern Ohio Copperheads. Like the above message says, we just launched to new site on May 16. Some things are not up and running yet. Don't worry. They are coming back. Currently uploaded is what we decided to be the minimum information needed to launch. Old articles have not been transfered, but new ones will be added as they come. The same is true for past rosters, staff rosters, and games. Please be patient and we will update you when things change.
