Copperheads Player Selection Underway…
By Dave Palmer
Copperhead’s GM
For the first time in the
Copperhead’s 9-year history, our coaching staff will be returning and they are
already working hard to recruit and select some of the finest collegiate
players in the nation.
Headed up by former
Youngstown State baseball skipper Mike Florak and assisted by Chris Moore
(Shawnee State) and Tim Culver (Fresno Pacific), the Coaching Staff now has a
season of Great Lakes League experience behind them and they are excited about
what they’ve learned and know what they want to do differently. This even after taking their team to the
playoffs Championship game during their first season.
The coaching staff is
already accepting inquiries from collegiate coaches hoping to place their best
players to fill a slot on the Copperhead’s roster when the players report on
June 14th, 2010. They know
our players will have a marvelous summer experience as they learn, develop, are
scouted and that eight players signed pro last June and six the year before
bringing the total to 34 since the Copperheads began eight years ago.
To recommend an
exceptional player, contact Head Coach Mike Florak at mflorak@ndcis.com or (330) 550-6069.
And in case you are
wondering, our players each have their own bedroom in beautiful furnished
apartments, receive a daily meal (and often more than one), have top notch
equipment, enjoy complete lifting and workout facilities, play their home games
in beautiful Bob Wren Stadium and perfectly groomed Trautwein
Field (Ohio University), travel to away games on the finest busses, and enjoy
the attendance of an average of 800 fans per game with a large staff that
operates our club in the manor of a great minor league franchise.
Selected players pay only
a $100 commitment fee (which becomes their refundable housing deposit once they
arrive) plus $300 to help defray some of our apartment housing costs.
