COPPERHEADS: Additional Coaching Staff Selected

 

Copperhead’s Head Coach Ted Tom has finalized his coaching staff for the summer 2008 season.

 

Chris Moore will be the Copperhead’s Pitching Coach.  Coach Moore is an Assistant Baseball Coach with the Shawnee State Bears.  He serves as the Pitching Coach, works with the infielders and is also the recruiting coordinator.  Prior to coming to Shawnee, Chris served two years as the Head Coach at the IMG Baseball Academy in Bradenton, FL, where he compiled a record of 38-17.  Chris also spent three years in Bloomington (IN) as an Assistant Coach for Indiana University.  Before Indiana, Chris spent two years as an Assistant Coach at Tacoma (WA) Community College.  Coach Moore has coached in the Florida Collegiate Instructional League for four years, reaching the championship game three times, winning twice. 

 

Chris had a successful collegiate career as two-way player.  He played at Central Washington University All-Conference honors in 1997 as a first baseman.  In that year, he finished the season with a .424 batting average, good for sixth best in school history at the time.  Prior to CWU, Chris played at Tacoma Community College, earning All-Conference honors both years there.  Chris graduated from Central Washington in 1999 with a degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration.  He is single and lives in Portsmouth, OH. 

Andrew Engebretson will be the Copperhead’s Hitting Coach as well as Field Maintenance & Equipment Manager.  Coach Engebretson is entering his first year with the Seton Hill Griffins (Greensburg PA) after graduating from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.  After playing his first season at the University of Rhode Island, Engebretson capped his career at St. Lawrence by earning ABCA/Rawlings 1st Team All-Region recognition.  He was named the Liberty League Player of the Year in 2007, topping the conference charts for batting average (.466), slugging percentage, on-base percentage, home runs and RBI's.

A native of Long Lake, MN, Andrew spent the 2007 summer at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida working with many of the nation's elite high school prospects.  He will oversee the Seton Hill University outfielders and serve as the Griffins primary hitting instructor.  He is pursuing his master's degree at Seton Hill in Instructional Design.  Engebretson is single and resides in Greensburg, PA.
