Justin Dedman has been appointed as the man to take over the Denison Big Red baseball program in 2008. The former player and 2005 graduate from Springfield, Ill. will head up his alma mater after serving as an assistant for the past two seasons.

The Copperheads welcomed the coach to their staff this past season after already having experience in the Great Lakes League. He served as the Assistant General Manager of the Licking County Settlers in 2006 before spending this summer in Athens.

Dedman will join fellow 2007 Copperhead assistant coach Tyler Mott (Ohio Wesleyan) as North Coast Athletic Conference head coaches. The two, along with coach of the year Mike Deegan, helped lead Southern Ohio to a third place finish in the GLSCL tournament.
